Internal cement mortar lining

Internal cement mortar lining with a formula specifically designed for the transport of drinking water, in compliance with the Italian Ministerial Decree Ministry of Health No. 174 of 06.04.04, drinking water, waste water, irrigation water, industrial water, salty and marine water.
This type of coating is adopted by many Italian and European agencies and companies managing the integrated water cycle, as it allows to combine the quality of the steel pipe, much greater than other materials such as cast iron, with a particularly ecological product like cement mortar.
Another advantage is the self healing capacity that makes the cement mortar long-lasting over the years throughout the pipeline.
The thicknesses of the coating and the composition of the mortars are designed according to international technical specifications DIN 2614, EN 10298, NFA 49701, AWWA C205 and customer specifications.

SIZE RANGE

Internal cement mortar lining from DN 3 "(88.9 mm) to 64" (1625.0 mm).
Lengths from 6.0 m to 13.5 m.
Internal testing and research laboratories.

IN-DEPTH

Self healing is the property of cement to individually heal cracks in the presence of moisture thanks to the formation of calcium carbonate crystals, obtained from the reaction of carbon dioxide with calcium hydroxide released by the hydration of the tricalcium silicate of the cement.
It has been widely studied and verified that calcium settles in insoluble form in empty spaces and fills them. The cracks are sealed and are waterproof and with a more resistant structure than the original.

The process is particularly relevant in cement lined carbon steel pipes since the service conditions are ideal for the occurrence of this phenomenon.
During production, the heads of the pipes are finished with particular care, so as to facilitate, after the joint, the self refilling of the internal coating in the joint, resulting in simple installation and reduction of costs.
